I love reading Ms. Sullivan's books they are full of suspense and hot steamy scenes. This book it is beautifully written. I sure hope there are more Crooked Creek books to be written I saw many I would like to read about. I recommend this story greatly.

Shae Sullivan you are amazing! I can't wait for the next book in the Crooked Creek series. Reading Sarah's story as she finds herself again with two men that have their own personal experience from the past that they are dealing with, then trying to find an arsonist threatening the town. This book is non-stop action that keeps you reading right through without putting it down!
I have to say I was a little disappointed with this story. It could have had so much potential to be some much more. Then there where some things that just didn’t make sense to me at all. They story line was good but it I felt that it was unfinished. In a way it seem to be and said cliffhanger. This is one of those stories were I think the author was concentrating more on the sex than the real potential of the story and that is so sad. I hope the author does read my review and see’s it as a positive creative encouragement. I really do hope that the author has some better people to proof read the work there were times that I was not sure who they were talking about because the characters physical characteristics were mixed up. This I can see is going to be a series so what I say will help in the future. Be away this could or does contain spoilers.This take place in Crooked Creek Montana which I assume in either at the base are on the mountain at a lower elevation in Montana. It involves the crews of the Fire Department, Police, and the Forest Rangers. This story circles around Sarah, Oakland Lake, a Forest Ranger; Archie Holland, a police officer, and his brother Alex Holland, a fireman.Archie and Sarah appear in the story on the same day. Archie in moving into town to start on the police force the next week. Archie drove in arriving at the Fire station to surprise his little brother Alex. Archie had been considered a drifter after he had finished raising his little brother. Both of their parents were killed in an auto accident and Archie was old enough to raise Alex. Alex is now the responsible one except his personality was changed at the start of the story with out a real reason to why. Archie meets Oakland first while Oakland is washing the fire truck after losing a bet. It is hard to tell until the next few chapter that these two become close friends.Sarah comes back into town after being gone for a year recovering from a horrific injury. The year before her best friends ex boyfriend came to her home looking for her friend. When he discovered that her friend Delilah was not there he went on a rampage. He beat up Sarah, then locked her in her basement. After doing that he set her home on fire. Dun the Assistant Fire chief knew that she was in there and risking his life he pulled her out with the help of Alex and Oakland. Sarah suffered third degree burns on her right hand and arm all the way up to her jaw line, and also on her right leg. Her lungs were so damaged she was fortune enough that they were able to have lungs for her to have lung transplant. Though she is physically healed as she can be she is still suffering from PTSD. This is brought out when Sarah, along with her brother go to the ice cream shop that is owned by Mrs. Anna and there she meets Oakland, and Archie. She is sucked into a flashback when Oakland tells her that she looks so much better than when they pulled her from the fire and was so glad she is doing better.Oakland himself has PTSD problems that don’t stand out as much as Sarah. His parents were also killed in an auto accident when he was very young and was put into the foster system. He is one of those children that ended up with terrible people. He finally did get with a nice couple, also he had met a younger child and they were together for ten years. Oakland considered Liam his brother. They did well until the woman died and the man took up drinking. On Oakland’s eighteenth birthday he came home to find the man beating Liam to death where as Oakland lost it and beat the man to death. Oakland was cleared of all charges but he will flash back to that moment under certain conditions..What I didn’t understand is how Sarah with issues with the appearance of her body since she received her burns goes out with these two men after being set up by her best friend, and starts to make out with them before the are even down the mountain. Instead of going out to eat go to the house the men share and share her. What happened to her PSTD, and her body issues?Later the is a mystery person that has left a threat in the forest. Well he burned it into the forest floor. Later the ice cream shop is on fire and Archie runs in looking for Mrs. Anna and finds her hiding under her bed. Okay this is a seventy something woman still in her right mind what in the world is she doing under her bed. In rescuing her Archie is severely hurt. This section of the book is well written.After Archie gets home and is recovering Oakland is hurt badly, but his ordeal is lightly touched on. Parts of it were even difficult for me to understand, I had to assume I knew what was going on.There is no answers to what happens with the mystery man threatening the town. Nor is there any answers of to what happens to Mrs Anna.This story if the author had wanted to could have shown more how three to four people can heal each other of their own individual problems, sex being a little less involved. The main story line built up even more. I felt that the end of the story was left choppy and incomplete. I am going to give this story a four star because it is a good story line, but it really deserves a three star. I just hope that the author see’s this as a way to improve their writing not as something to discourage what they are doing.
I love all the characters and how they all overcome injury. I love how Oakland and Archie show Sarah that she is more than her scars.
WOW! She heals from her and njury. Two mountain men take her and make her feel beautiful again! That’s more precious than gold!The town is in trouble and starts with someone trying to burn it down and hurting her two men! We will find out more later!
