I've been waiting for this book for a while. I build scale models for clients and this book adds a tremendous amount of value in terms of reference material. From all the background info and facts, through the blueprints, to the actual photos, this books is the perfect compilation of the Millennium Falcon history. As of my writing this, the book is $19. Get it now because B&N offers it for some $30.
Approaching the YT-1300 light freighter as a real-world vehicle, this book offers fun and amazing insights into the most famous ship in the galaxy! Highly recommended for any Star Wars fan, longtime and new. If you're wanting to know just how many iterations and modifications you can make to Han Solo's (and previously Lando Calrissian's) ship, this is the manual for you!
It came in especially handy when I needed to replace the hyperdrive motivator on my third-hand purchased YT-1300. ;) Love the illustrations and history of the ship. My only nerdy nitpick is the 'atmosphere speed' - wouldn't that depend on the atmosphere of a planet? Would it's maximum atmosphere speed be escape velocity? An enjoyable book that Star Wars fans will enjoy..
Picked this up after seeing it advertised on gizmodo. As someone who cut his internet teeth on space battles and SDN in the late 90s/early 00s, I was always into the "way too detailed" stuff. The book represents a good technical introduction for nu-canon, and the inclusion of "old" canon, such as ships form KOTOR and "Shadows of the Empire" was a surprise to be sure, but a welcome one.I highly recommend it.
